The seller also lists particular amendments and corrections. Its contents do not list EN 1993-1-2 for structural fire design, EN 1993-2 for bridges or EN 1993-6 for crane-supporting structures. Those applications require a separate document check.

Match the exact references, editions and steel grades to the project specification. Verify the relevant national implementation and country-specific parameters, and ask whether the necessary National Annexes are supplied.

The European Commission JRC's family guide identifies EN 1993 as the steel-design Eurocode. Other relevant design-basis, loading and material requirements still need to be selected for the project.

What Does prEN Mean? Draft Standards and Placeholder References

prEN means draft European Standard. It identifies a document under development, rather than a published EN. CEN and CENELEC distinguish draft standards (prENs) from European Standards (ENs) . Does “prEN 50XXX” identify a particular standard?
